big day

Wow....no other way to describe it!! Yesterday (24 Mar) was a BIG day for us. The Appellate Court ruled in our favour and overturned the Lower Court's ruling—reversing Summary Judgment and giving me the right to be heard in court. The 1-ton gorilla has left the room. Your support, prayers, and thoughts have lifted us to new levels. This ruling has granted Liam the chance to have a father.

So what does this all mean? We are far from being over--unless Liam's mother becomes rational and acts on behalf of Liam's best interests. My attorneys have re-affirmed and offered to their attorney the desire for us to resolve this without having to go to trial and needlessly waste time and dollars. We have no idea what they (Katherine and Ana) will do.

However, they have severed my ties with Liam and I have and will continue to do what I can to LEGALLY obtain rights to our father-son relationship. The Appellate Court has ruled that there is enough evidence such that I do have the right to be heard.

For what ever reason, it looks like California did not work out for Katherine and Ana. Their attorney told my attorney that they have moved back to Miami. What a waste of time, effort, and money! Unfortunately, the damage they caused will not be forgotten; we cannot and will not go back to “the way it was.” I can forgive, but this relationship will no longer be based on trust. They proved that they cannot be trusted. It will have to be a relationship enforced by our legal system to ensure we don't go through this stress and drama in the future.

I don't know when or how long this will take, nor do I know when we will be reunited with Liam. But I do know that I could not and would not be at this point without your support and the amazing work of my attorneys: Gerald Kornreich & Associates and Patricia Dempsey.
