Received word from my attorney's office that the judge came out with a decision. He ruled in favour of the moms--awarding Summary Judgement to them. This means that we do not go to Evidentiary Hearing to reveal all the facts.
This action alone has denied Liam the following:
-biological father and a second father who loves him and will do what is best for him
-his only surviving grandparents; three uncles, three aunts, six cousins--all biologically related
-numerous other "uncles and aunts" and friends who also love and support him
essentially, the "village" it takes to raise and nurture a child.
What awaits Liam? Two mothers who have isolated him in another state while allowing both of their homes go into foreclosure in Florida; who have abandoned a dog of 12 years and a cat of 10 years; maternal friends who they have isolated and left in disbelief and into an environment where one mother who is on her third job in 10 months and cannot hold a job longer than six months; and her only way of dealing with stress is using a substance which is illegal in Florida and only legal in other places for true medicinal purposes (as in cancer, not stress).
I'm exhausted, but then I think about Donald Goldman and his 5-year fight for his son and I pull inspiration and energy from his just quest. But my greatest source of strength comes from my partner and my friends and family. Your simple notes, calls, and compassion have kept me on a path knowing I am doing the right thing--Liam needs his father. I don't know how I am going to do this; how all the pieces will fall together; but I am confident that if and once we can get to an Evidentiary Hearing, there will be no doubt in any one's mind that I was intended to be and am Liam's father--and all rights associated to being a natural father.
